Laser shaft alignment is significantly faster, more accurate, and easier to use than traditional dial indicators. It reduces human error, provides real-time feedback, and generates digital reports for documentation—making it ideal for precision alignment and long-term maintenance tracking.
We recommend that renters are familiar with the application and equipment they are requesting. While we’re happy to provide basic guidance and support, rentals are best suited for users who have experience with the tools or have completed training. If you're new to the equipment, we offer on-site and remote training to get you up to speed before you rent.
We offer both! Our team can come to your facility for 1- or 2-day training classes, or provide remote training via Zoom or video conferencing. Sessions are customized to your specific tools and team needs.

Soft foot occurs when one or more feet of a machine don’t sit flat on the baseplate, causing distortion when bolts are tightened. It’s a common issue that can throw off your alignment readings and lead to premature equipment failure. Checking for and correcting soft foot is a critical step before performing any shaft alignment.
If you notice recurring misalignment even after proper adjustments, thermal growth might be the cause. As equipment heats up during operation, expansion can shift alignment. Using thermal growth targets in your laser alignment tool can compensate for these shifts and ensure proper alignment under actual operating conditions.
Even with perfect shaft alignment, high vibration can be caused by other issues—imbalance, looseness, bearing wear, resonance, or soft foot. That’s why pairing vibration analysis with alignment is important for diagnosing the full picture.
Alignment should be checked any time a machine is moved, rebuilt, or undergoes maintenance. For critical machinery, regular alignment checks (e.g., quarterly or semi-annually) are part of a solid preventative maintenance program.
Yes. Many of our laser shaft alignment tools include specialized programs for vertical and flange-mounted machines, allowing you to perform accurate measurements in non-standard orientations.
